James Sims is a 6'2 170 lb catcher/outfielder from Columbia, SC where he attends Ridge View High School. He has a long athletic build with good speed. He has a time of 7.0 in the 60 yard dash and can leg out infield hits when he needs to. Behind the plate h receives well and has quick release for his big frame, arm strength will determine if his future is behind the plate or in the outfield at the next level. Outfield arm is very serviceable. Sims has doubles/triples power at the plate. Power numbers will continue to increase as he fills in to his 6'2 frame. Sims led his high school team in average as a sophomore and junior. Great approach to the game. Exceptional student, A+ character and work ethic. Looking for great things in 2014 as Sims has been training with one of the top professional trainers in SC. Sims is one of the top uncommitted players in the midlands in the 2014 class and a definite follow.
