The Carolina Combat is a travel baseball program based out of Columbia, SC. Established in April 2010, our program is centered around positive coaches with the right baseball experience. Our goal is to prepare the player for college baseball by exposing them to college as well as professional scouts. We actively support combat veterans and those that have served our our country, hence the name "Combat".
What is the goal of the Carolina Combat?
The goal of the Combat is to educate and prepare you for taking your game to the next level, whether it be improving a strength or weakness on the field, getting you ready for college competition, or helping you find the right school and making sure you get seen by college coaches. We strive to promote positive life skills and uphold the integrity of the game.
Who are the coaches?
The coaches include former college and pro players as well as coaches with college and high school coaching experience. Several have given professional instruction. These coaches are always positive and willing to help you take the next step so you can learn, have fun, and become a better ball player.
Who can try out for the Combat?
Anyone ages 10u-18u years old that wants to be the best ball player they can be, play competitive baseball, and have fun in the process.
When does the Combat practice/play?
Practice will be select days during the week. We do have access to indoor facilities. Games will be on the weekends, usually two games Saturday and two games Sunday. We also have a special "VIP" section on our site which you receive a password and hundreds of dollars of baseball specific training is at your fingertips.
Where are the tournaments?
Many will be around Columbia and the Midlands area of South Carolina. We can also play in tournaments in Charleston, Myrtle Beach, and other areas in SC with college ballparks including USC's stadium. Teams usually play a world series type event in the summer, which may be in Charleston or East Cobb, Ga.
Do I have to pay more than the other high profile teams from South Carolina?
Absolutely not. We want to give you the most bang for your buck. The cost is considerably less than what some "high profile" teams charge, and they can't offer you all we do. Don't be surprised if you play in tournaments against those same teams!
Can you help get my son seen by college scouts or should I just attend expensive showcases?
We can do online prospect pages with scouting reports and add video of you, and now it makes it very easy for a college coach to see you without having to be physically in front of him at a showcase. This gives you all the benefit of attending a showcase because you can simply email the coach your page, and that coach can have an opportunity to come see you play in game situations during the summer or fall, since this is the primary time coaches are scouting (not high school baseball season!).
Does The Combat guarantee I get a baseball scholarship?
While we have had a great success rate of our players going on to college, we can not make any guarantees. Playing baseball in college is a privilege not a right. Combat Baseball gives you the map to win a scholarship, it is up to you to take the necessary steps. We take away the pain and frustration of wondering whether or not you are executing what you need to do to have a chance at playing baseball in college. Most players do not even know what is required of them. They have no map or guidance and they wander aimlessly and end up wondering "what if?". Time is too valuable waste not knowing if you're on track.
Do you really wear camouflage?
We were the first to wear the digital camouflage in SC. We've also had digital camouflage hats. We have had "camo" uniforms in the past, and we will continue to use them when possible.
